【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversmercury-in-glass,reusablemaximumself-registeringclinicalthermometersofthetypescommonlyusedformeasuringbodytemperaturesofhumansandofanimals.Requirementsaregivenforbulbandstemglasses,mercury,legibilityandpermanencyofmarkings,dimensions,temperaturescaleranges,andgraduations,aswellasforthermometerstability,easeofresetting,retentionoftemperatureindication,andforaccuracyofscalereading.Appropriatemethodsoftestingtodeterminecomplianceareprovided.Alsoincludedisaglossaryoftermsusedinthestandardandanappendixwithadditionalinformationonthermometerglassesandstability.1.2AllvaluesoftemperatureinthisstandardarewithreferencetotheInternationalTemperatureScaleof1990.1.3Thisspecificationwasdevelopedtoprovidenationallyrecognizedmarketingclassificationsandqualityrequirementsformercury-in-glass,maximumself-registeringclinicalthermometers.Itisalsointendedtoprovideproducers,distributors,anduserswithacommonunderstandingofthecharacteristicsofthisproduct.1.4Thefollowingprecautionarystatementpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section6ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
