【摘要】:ThispracticehasbeenfoundtobeveryusefulforpreparingpolyethylenesamplessuitablefordeterminationofdensitybyTestMethodD1505,forqualitycontrolpurposes,especiallyinaresinmanufacturingfacilitywherefast,reproducible,comparativeresultsareneeded.Itisnotnecessarilyrecommendedforresinspecificationsthatarepartofasalescontractbetweenthebuyerandtheseller.Thedensityofapolyethylenesampleishighlydependentonthepreparationandthermalhistoryofthespecimens.ThelevelofdensityresultsobtainedbythispracticeofsamplepreparationdiffersfromthatobtainedbyothermethodsasdescribedinPracticeD4703,AnnexA1.Beforeproceedingwiththispractice,referenceshallbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,orsomecombinationthereof,coveredinthematerialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthispractice.Iftherearenomaterialspecifications,thedefaultconditionsapply.1.1ThispracticecoversthepreparationofasampleforpolyethylenedensitydeterminationinaccordancewithTestMethodD1505.ThesampleconsistsofastrandproducedbyextrusionofthepolyethyleneinaccordancewithTestMethodD1238,Condition190/2.16(MeltIndex).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothisstandard.Note28212;TheprecisiondataondensitiesmeasuredusingthissamplepreparationpracticeislistedinTestMethodD1505.
